MACS LINE - Congestion surcharge to Maputo, Mozambique
MACS hereby give notice to the trade that, with immediate effect, i.e. Bill of Lading date 18th August 2010, a congestion surcharge of US$ 200/TEU, respectively EUR 15.00 w/m (per freight ton) will be implemented on all southbound export cargoes to Maputo, Mozambique.
The congestion surcharge is subject to close monitoring of the port 's performance and will be reduced or withdrawn when a significant reduction in waiting times has been achieved.
We regret this development but the waiting time of our vessels in Maputo of 3-5 days leave us with no other choice.
